As one of the largest and most successful national identity schemes and Qualified Trust Service Providers (QTSPs) in the European Union, itsme provides high-assurance digital identity solutions to over 8 million EU citizens. Following its strategic acquisition of iDIN to establish a stronger operational footprint in the Netherlands, itsme is utilizing the incoming eIDAS 2.0 regulatory framework as a key driver for strategic market expansion. Rather than replacing its well-established and highly trusted identity application or current enterprise processes, the integration of EUDI Wallet connectivity will serve as a native, seamless add-on service within itsme’s existing platform portfolio, enabling corporate clients to expand their digital identity capabilities with absolute continuity.
In this partnership Lissi serves as the technical infrastructure supplier, delivering the Lissi EUDI Wallet Connector as a white-label component. The software operates seamlessly behind the scenes, ensuring that itsme retains absolute control over its distinctive corporate branding, customer data and entire digital service portfolio. The setup enables itsme to offer continued interoperability and testing with all available member state wallets and sandboxes (e.g France and Germany) automated data purge routines and audit functions as well as support for the Digital Credentials API (DC API) to maintain a highly adaptable transaction layer. By partnering with itsme, regulated organizations in Belgium and the Netherlands can effectively minimize the technical overhead, implementation risks, and perpetual compliance maintenance cycles typically associated with custom in-house protocol engineering.
Reflecting on the strategic importance of this platform extension for corporate clients, itsme emphasizes the value of operational continuity and risk mitigation in an increasingly demanding regulatory landscape. Itsme’s Chief Product and Information Officer Thomas Vandemeulebroeke states:
"Integrating the EUDI Wallet framework into our existing environment is a natural evolution of our identity and trust services portfolio. By delivering this wallet connectivity as a native add-on to the itsme platform our clients already trust, we enable organizations to become fully EUDI Wallet-ready by default. This approach completely de-risks the transition for our clients, ensuring they meet upcoming compliance mandates on time while avoiding the substantial implementation timelines and resource drains of custom integration projects."
Through this enhanced platform capability, itsme provides a comprehensive suite of services designed to handle the entire lifecycle of digital identity transactions from a single interface. Regulated organizations can seamlessly leverage the platform to execute secure customer onboarding via Personal Identification Data (PID) verification, implement compliant Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) for high-assurance logins, and authorize Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES).
Additionally, the platform orchestrates the full verification and issuance of digital credentials, supporting both the issuance of qualified and non-qualified Electronic Attestations of Attributes. This unified operational layer offers immediate, structural benefits to the key sectors served by itsme, including financial institutions, insurance companies, telecommunications providers, and public sector bodies, all of which are strategically preparing for the upcoming legal mandates to accept the EUDI Wallet framework.
Adrian Doerk, Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder at Lissi GmbH, highlights the strategic significance of this milestone:
"We are truly honored to partner with one of the most successful identity schemes in whole Europe and contribute to its continued success in the era of the EUDI Wallet."
By combining itsme’s extensive market footprint with Lissi’s enterprise-grade architecture, this partnership establishes a secure, audit-ready, and highly resilient trust infrastructure that seamlessly de-risks eIDAS 2.0 compliance for enterprise clients navigating Europe’s digital transformation.
